Technical description: Borosilicate was developed originally for cookware (trade name PYREX) and scientific glassware such as test tubes. This makes borosilicate glass much more durable than soft glass (soda lime) which is used to make most glass beads, art glass vases, ornaments and paperweights. The durability of borosilicate glass makes it a great product to use for glass beads.

Personal description: Fire, borosilicate glass and Steve’s magic touch make awesome beads. Borosilicate glass has a wonderfully organic color palette due to the various metals added to the glass at the factory. When Steve puts a flame to the glass magic happens!

Borosilicate (boro) Sets

Due to the chemical nature of the glass duplicating a bead can be difficult. All of the beads in a set are made at one sitting with the conditions under which they are made staying constant. All of the sets are one of kind works of art and cannot be duplicated exactly. So if you see a set you can’t live without don’t wait too long to order it or it may be gone!
